Laura Crosby: FIne Art Photography

As a fine art photographer, I seek to capture the nuances that are found in moments, in places, in shared histories and in common things.

As a documentary photographer, I have worked for more than two decades as an agent for social change. My photographic projects illuminate the lives and dignity of people marginalized by illness and/or cultural position. I have photographed the homeless, refugees, disenfranchised teenagers, victims of domestic violence, adolescent prostitutes, disabled adults and their caregivers, and patients with anorexia, bulimia and Alzheimer’s, among others.

"We work in the dark – we do what we can – we give what we have, our doubt is our passion, and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art."

Henry James
